SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHING AND RESEARCH: TEACHERS’ PERSPECTIVE

This study aims to know teachers’ perception regarding research and throw a shadow of light on this critical issue with respect teaching pedagogy. For study, data were collected through survey questionnaire close ended items from 104 secondary school teachers (SSTs) (grade 6 10) English language centers Karachi. The analysis revealed that most the believed knowledge they gain is more effective valuable rather than acquired research. In both categories, majority participants declared have limited sources available in order access Second Language Acquisition (SLA) articles, whereas half them stated do not enough time conduct SLA research, few reported as lack interest, one SSTs indicated articles are difficult understand no ability Furthermore, agreed teacher should be researcher, disagreed statement. concludes some ideas proposals remove pertaining communication barriers between researchers teachers.
